Thursday 5 April 2007: First thinning of Sitka spruce at Kilconnell, Co Galway.Meet at the Kilconnell Community Centre, Co Galway (on the R348 - Ballinasloe-Athenry road)Buses will depart from the meeting point from 12:00 to 1:30.
Thursday 12 April 2007: First thinning of Sitka spruce at Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick.Meet at the Abbeyfeale GAA Centre (on the Listowel Road)Buses will depart from the meeting point from 12:00 to 1:30.
Thursday 19 April 2007: First thinning of Sitka spruce at Bweeng, Co Cork.Meet at the Bweeng Community Centre, Co Cork Buses will depart from the meeting point from 12:00 to 1:30.
Friday 4 May 2007: First thinning of Sitka spruce at Stranorlar, Co Donegal.Meet at the Finn Valley Centre, Stranorlar, Co Donegal. Buses will depart from the meeting point from 12:00 to 1:30.
Tuesday 12 June 2007: First thinning of Sitka spruce at Aghagower, Co Mayo.Meet at the Aghagower Community Centre. Buses will depart from the meeting point from 12:00 to 1:00.
Wednesday 20 June 2007: First thinning of ash and production of quality firewood at Vicarstown, Co Laois.Meet at the Vicarstown Community Hall. Buses will depart from the meeting point from 12:00 to 1:30.
CHIPPING DEMONSTRATIONS - September 2007
The second phase of the COFORD/Teagasc Forest Energy 2007 programme, will demonstrate chipping operations at three sites:
- Tuesday 4 September - Kilconnell, Co Galway. Meet at the Kilconnell Community Centre, Co Galway (on the R348 - Ballinasloe-Athenry road).
- Tuesday 11 September - Bweeng, Co Cork. Meet at the Bweeng Community Centre, Co Galway.
- Friday 14 September - Stranorlar, Co Donegal. Meet at the Finn Valley Centre, Stranorlar, Co Donegal.
Each event will commence at 11am. Buses will take groups of participants from the meeting point to the site between 11am and 12.30 pm.
